We used to sign up for Kindermusik by the semester, several times a year. Why is enrollment for the full school year now?
In the past, we did re-enrollment efforts three times during the school year, which was costly (LOTS of paper and toner) and time-taking (designing & printing enrollment sheets, talking about it in class, taking phone calls/emails, updating the website, processing registrations).
Starting Fall 2011, we have changed it to a once-per-school-year registration system. Families now enroll once and stay enrolled as long as they want, which means that we save both money and time. We have passed this savings on to our program families by reducing tuition fees! There used to be a total of 29 classes between September and May, and, despite lowering tuition fees, we have actually ADDED 3 more classes to our schedule! So overall, that's like getting 4-5 more classes for free now!
We split the total cost into a low registration fee and an even dollar amount per month, so families would have a predictable amount for budgeting purposes. Having a registration fee helps us to be able to order home materials for our families, since the first month's payment does not cover the entire cost of the materials.
So the upshot is: you now get MORE classes for LESS money. . .not to mention all of the great extras we include at no additional charge, like the studio parties, Lending Library, and all of the other things listed on the Membership Benefits sheet.

While it is incredibly beneficial to your child to have the continuity of attending the same class week after week, as well as being allowed the time for growth over the school-year time period, we understand that sometimes things come up which make completing the year not an option. (We also understand that sometimes families can't start classes right in September, so we welcome new families into our program at ANY time during the year!) If you need to withdraw from classes before the end of the school year, we make it easy for you to do so, and the simple two-step process is outlined on our Policies & Procedures sheet.

What should we expect in our Kindermusik class?
Every Kindermusik class is led by a licensed educator who carefully crafts her lesson plans to be appropriate for the ages and temperaments in each individual class. However, many elements are consistent in every level of Kindermusik, even though they may be presented differently to infants than they are to preschoolers: singing, playing instruments (even the babies!), movement games, exploring manipulatives such as hoops or scarves, and lots of fun!
